Jim Gillespie, Apt. 1, Riverside Apartments, John Street, Derry

The death has taken place of Jim Gillespie, February 21 2026, peacefully, after a long illness, at Altnagelvin Hospital, (formerly of Longtower Street), beloved partner of Grainne, loving father of Sharon, Caroline, Michael and Sinead, cherished son of the late Dickie and Sarah, dear and loving brother of John, Martin, Annmarie, Paul, Nichola and the late Richard and a caring uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Jim will be reposing at his home, Apt. 1, Riverside Apartments, John Street, on Monday from 11:00am to 9:00pm. Funeral arrangements later. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady of Lourdes intercede for him.

 

Sylvia Christina Moore (née Whelan), Limavady

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Sylvia Christina Moore (née Whelan), passed away peacefully on February 21 2026 at Altnagelvin Hospital surrounded by her loving family, late of Edenvale, Limavady. Daughter of the late William and Olive Whelan, Loving Mother of Richard and Valerie. Devoted Sister of Ronnie, Ruby, Sydney, Stanley and the late Allan. Greatly missed by all including her beloved dog Bailey. Service in Browns Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 24 2026 at 12noon, followed by burial in Enagh Cemetery. House strictly private. Anyone wishing to pay their respects can do so at Browns Funeral Home on Monday, February 23 2026 between 6.00pm – 8.00pm. Family flowers only please donations if desired and cheques payable to Macmillan Cancer Support and forwarded to Browns Funeral Directors, 21 Aghanloo Ind Est., Aghanloo Road, Limavady.

 

Brian (Barney) McCool, 6 Leenan Gardens, Derry

Funeral arrangements for the late Brian (Barney) McCool, February 22 2026, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Altnagelvin Hospital, after a long illness, (formerly of Rathowen Park), beloved husband of Miriam, loving father of Jordan-Marie, Brian-Liam and Ciaran-Donovan, dear son of the late Peggy and Brian, cherished brother of Alana, Gary and Roy and a caring uncle to Michelle, Aidan and Aaron. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle. Funeral arrangements later. House (6 Leenan Gardens). Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady of Lourdes intercede for him.

 

Liam McDevitt, 8 Gartan Square, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Liam McDevitt, February 22 2026, peacefully at home, beloved husband of the late Margaret, 8 Gartan Square, loving father of Frankie, Jim, Liam, Paul and Gerard, a devoted grandfather and dear brother of the late Pat, Johnny, James, Hannah and Maisie. Liam's remains will be reposing in his home on Monday 12noon - 10.00pm.  Funeral from there on Tuesday at 9.30am for 10o'clock Requiem Mass in St Eugene's Cathedral. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.

 

Raymond Richard James Watton, Castlerock

The death has taken place of Raymond Richard James Watton,  February 21 2026, (peacefully) at Causeway Hospital, late of Castlerock and formerly of Ballybogey, a dear father, grandfather, brother and brother-in-law. Service in James McMullan & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday at 2.00pm followed by interment in Ballymoney Cemetery. Family and friends welcome at Funeral Home on Monday between 3.00pm and 4.30pm. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to ADDNI Children's Charity c/o James McMullan & Son, 22 High Street, Ballymoney, BT53 6AQ or online at mcmullanfunerals.com. Sadly missed by his sorrowing family and the entire family circle.
