Wilfred (Neil) Crowe, Derry

The death has taken place of Wilfred (Neil) Crowe, February 2 2026, peacefully at home, beloved life partner of Libby, loving son of Phyllis and Howard, cherished stepson of Maeve, dear brother of Christine, Elizabeth, Rachel and the late John, much loved brother-in-law of Bob and Reggie and an adored uncle to all his nephews and nieces. Neil will be reposing in his partner Libby's home, 112 The Fountain, on Tuesday from 12noon - 8.00pm. Funeral service will take place there on Wednesday at 11 o'clock followed by interment in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Malachy Kelly, 11 Broadway, Creggan, Derry

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Malachy Kelly, suddenly at his home on January 31 2026. Late of 11 Broadway, Creggan and formerly of 35 Edenmore Street. May he rest in peace. Beloved husband of Anna. Devoted father of Susan, Ann-Marie, Tina, Margaret, Sharon, Colin, Fiona, Cathy, Gerald, Sinead, Patricia and James. A dear father-in-law. Loving granda and great-granda to all of his much loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dearest son of the late JF and Maggie. A much loved brother of Tony, Eugene, Anne and the late Neil. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Malachy’s remains will be reposing at his late home, 11 Broadway, Creggan. Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday, February 4 at 9:20am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Creggan. Burial will take place afterwards in the City Cemetery. The wake house will be private for close family and friends. Robert James Winston Lynch, 36 Kilburn Crescent, Woodburn, Derry

The death has taken place of Robert James Winston Lynch, February 2 2026, at home 36 Kilburn Crescent, Woodburn, (surrounded by his loving family in his 84th year) much loved husband of Eileen, loving dad of Wendy, Peter, and Nicola, dear father-in-law of Andrew, Samantha and Jonathan, adored Granda of Curtis, Emmy, Nicole, Georgia and Justin, dearest brother of Sue, Hugh, and the late Jim. Funeral leaving his late home on Thursday, February 5 at 12.00pm followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for his life in All Saints’ Clooney Parish Church at 12.30pm burial afterwards in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only donations in lieu if desired (cheques made payable to All Saints’ Clooney Select Vestry) c/o Mrs Helen Henderson, 5 Manning Way, Brigade, Derry BT47 6GL. Everyone is welcome to call at the Family Home on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2.00pm until 8.00pm. “Be still and know that I am God”.

 

Eric Nijntjes, 37 Glengalliagh Park, Derry (Formerly of Zaandam, The Netherlands)

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Eric Nijntjes, peacefully at Cornfield Care Centre on February 1 2026. Late of 37 Glengalliagh Park and formerly of Zaandam, The Netherlands. May he rest in peace. Beloved husband of Yvonne. Devoted father of Seán, Michaela, Eva and Noel. Dearest father-in-law of Muammer. Loving Opa of Charley, Tiernan, Cathaoir, Oisin, Fiann, Brogan, Ava, Mehmet, Medb and Keyan. A much loved brother to all of his brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle and friends both here in Ireland and The Netherlands. Eric’s remains are now reposing at his late family home, 37 Glengalliagh Park. Jean Scott, Limavady

The death has taken place of Jean Scott, Passed away peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on February 2 2026, Dear Mother of Edgar (Janice), Paula (John), Alan (Cathy), Ian (Heather), Devoted Grandmother of Ben, Amy, Luke, Jodie, Kyle, Ross, Harry, Alex and Heidi and Great Grand mother of seven Great Grand Children. Dear Sister of Marion, Francis and the late Rose, Patsy and Joe. All welcome to call pay their respects to Jean at Browns Funeral Home on Tuesday at 7.00pm to 9.00pm. Funeral will be held in Browns Funeral home on Wednesday at 12noon followed by burial in Enagh Cemetery at 1.00pm. Brian Scully, 61 Ballynahone Road, Knockloughrim

The death has occurred of the late Brian Scully, January 31 2026, (peacefully) at his home, surrounded by his loving Family, Brian, dearly-loved Husband of Anne, 61 Ballynahone Road, Knockloughrim, much-loved Father of Lorraine and Mark, a dear Father-in-law of Brian and Jill, devoted Grandad of Dayna, Alex, Jack and Keziah, proud Great-grandad of Ava and James and is survived by his younger Brother Bernie. House private. A Service of Thanksgiving for Brian's Life will take place in Termoneeny Parish Church, Knockloughrim on Wednesday, February 4 at 2:00pm, followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please.
