Joan Breslin (née Kiernan), 94 Moyola Drive, Shantallow, Derry
The death has taken place of Joan Breslin (née Kiernan), January 21 2026, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved wife of the late Joseph, loving mother of Monica, Martin, Catherine, Joan and Joseph, mother-in-law of Sharon, John and Seamus, a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother and dear sister of Alice and the late John, Agnes and Dan. Joan’s remains will be reposing in her home, 94 Moyola Drive, Shantallow. Funeral from there on Friday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown. Interment afterwards in the City cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her. St Martin intercede for her.
James Cresswell (Jim) Ellis, 1 Judges Road, Derry
It is with deep regret we announce the passing of James Cresswell (Jim) Ellis, January 21 2026, peacefully in Culmore Manor. Dearly beloved uncle of Carol, Lionel, Daphne, Kenny, Karen. Dear Brother Noreen and the late Rossie, Nan, Betty and Mo. Funeral service in his home, 1 Judges Road on Saturday, January 24 at 11.00am followed by burial in Altnagelvin Cemetery. Donna Harkin (née Cassidy), 128 Ard Bán, Muff (Formerly of Derry)
The death has taken place of Donna Harkin (née Cassidy), January 20 2026, suddenly at her home, 128 Ard Bán, Muff (formerly of Rosemount and Hazelbank), beloved wife of Jimmy, devoted daughter of Phyllis and the late Gerry, cherished sister of Andrea, Glen, Shane and Jason and a loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Donna will be reposing at her home. Funeral leaving her home on Friday, January 23 at 9:15am to Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Our Lady of Lourdes intercede for her.
Angelica Kelly (née Doherty), Derry
The death has occurred of the late Angelica Kelly (née Doherty), January 18 2026, loving mother of Lyndsey, Kerry and Angelina, (formerly of Blighs Gardens, Creggan) mother-in-law of Josh, devoted nana of Jayden, Cielo, Bowie and Anna Rose, cherished daughter of the late Angela and Danny Doherty and a much loved sister and aunt. Everyone is welcome to pay their respects at W J O’Brien & Son Funeral Directors, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Thursday from 4.00pm – 5.00pm. Her remains will be removed from there to arrive at St Mary’s Church, Creggan at 5.45pm to repose overnight. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10o'clock. Kathleen Law (née Quigley), 59 Drumavalley, Bellerena
The death has occurred of the late Kathleen Law (née Quigley), January 21 2026, peacefully at Waterside Hospital, beloved wife of Ernest, loving mother of Stephen and David, mother-in-law of Anne and Irene and devoted grandmother of Chloe, Ciara, Gavin and the late Emma. Kathleen will be reposing in her home, 59 Drumavalley, Bellerena. Funeral from there on Friday at 10.30am for 11o’clock Requiem Mass in St Aidan’s Church, Magilligan. Eileen McGaughey (née McGilloway), 4 Ashbrook Park, Limavady (Formerly of Moville)
The death has occurred of Eileen McGaughey (née McGilloway), peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 17. Predeceased by her husband Gerard and her sister Sally Cavanagh. Much loved mother of Geraldine (Shirley). Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sister Mary Kelly, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Eileen’s remains will repose at her home, 4 Ashbrook Park, Limavady. Funeral from there on Thursday at 9.45am to Derry Donegal Christian Fellowship, 9 Northland Road, Derry, for 11.00am, for the celebration service of Eileen’s life, followed by interment in Ballybrack Cemetery. Family time from 10.00pm to 10.00am. Donations, if desired, to Assistance Dogs NI. Donations may be left via the Assistance Dogs NI JustGiving page in memory of Eileen McGaughey.
