Mabel Chambers (née Clarke), 6 Tamnadeese Road, Castledawson

The death has taken place of the late Mabel Chambers (née Clarke), Called home to glory January 17 2026, (peacefully), much loved and devoted mother of Kaye, Neville, Alastair, Alan, Adrian and Elizabeth, dear mother-in-law of Cecelia, Elaine, Joy, Cathy and Robert, also a loving granny and great-granny and dearest sister of Sylvia, Belle, David, Hugh, Rita, Carol, Norma and the late William, Kathleen, Gladys and Annie. Family and friends welcome at her son Alistair’s home, 6 Tamnadeese Road, Castledawson BT45 8DW. Funeral from her home on Tuesday (January 20) at 1:00pm for service in Christ Church, Castledawson at 1:45pm (approx.) followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please. Kieran Gavigan, 2 Heathfield, Derry

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Kieran Gavigan, January 17 2026, peacefully at his home, 2 Heathfield, beloved husband of Patricia, loving father of Roisin, Eamonn, Colin and Sean, father-in-law of Paddy, Donna, Fiona and Elaine, a devoted grandfather and dear brother of John, Geraldine and the late Deirdre. Kieran will be reposing in his home on Sunday from 12noon - 9.00pm.  Funeral from there on Monday at 10.30am for 11o’clock Requiem Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown. Interment afterwards in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Muff, Co Donegal. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.


Matthew Thomas Gracey, 140 Drumbolg Road, Upperlands, Maghera

The death has taken place of Matthew Thomas Gracey, (suddenly) at home, 140 Drumbolg Road, Upperlands, Maghera. Dearly-loved son of Shirley and cherished brother of Stephen, Janice, Tamara, Chelsea and Rachel. Friends and relatives are welcome to call at the home at any time. Funeral arrangements later. Sonny Kelly, 76 Strabane Old Road, Derry

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Sonny Kelly, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on January 16 2026. Late of 76 Strabane Old Road and formerly of 449 Carnhill. May he rest in peace. Beloved husband of the late Sarah. Devoted father of Esther, Teresa, Kevin, Paula, Geraldine, Ann, Louise, Liam, Mark and the late Rosa and Stephanie. A loving granda and great-granda to his much loved 45 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Sonny’s remains will be reposing at his late home, 76 Strabane Old Road. Funeral leaving from there on Monday, January 19 at 10:20am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in St. Columb’s Church, Chapel Road. William John (Paul) Mooney, 44 Abbeydale, Waterside, Derry

The death has taken place of William John (Paul) Mooney, January 15 2026 Suddenly at his home, 44 Abbeydale, Waterside, (surrounded by his loving family in his 61st year) much loved husband of Carol, devoted dad of Ryan (Laura), Matthew (Nicole), loving granda of Jack, dearest son-in-law of Anne. Funeral leaving his late home on Monday, January 19 at 11.00am followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for his life in All Saints’ Clooney Parish Church at 11.30am burial afterwards in Ballyoan Cemetery. The death has occurred of the late Sheena Shiels, January 16 2026, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved partner of Shane McCauley, Carn Manor, loving mother of Amy-Leigh, Laura, John and the late James and dear sister of Nicky, Sharon, Anne-Marie, Margaret, Kim, Kerry-Anne, Shane and the late Lillius and Gary and a much loved granny.
