Douglas (Doug) Herbert Basnett, Co Derry

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Douglas (Doug) Herbert Basnett, December 20 2025, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband of Hazel, much loved father of Nichola and Louise, father-in-law of Simon and Colin, grandfather of James, Alex, Jessica and John. House Strictly Private. Funeral Service will be held at Antrim & Newtownabbey Crematorium on Friday, January 2 at 1.00pm. No flowers please. Donations, if wished, for Cancer Research UK, c/o Hugh Wade and Son, 3 Upper Abbey Street, Coleraine, BT52 1BF or online at www.hughwadefuneraldirectors.com. Lovingly remembered by all his family and friends at home and abroad.

 

Mary (May) Blair (née Ewing), 29 Leitrim Road, Castledawson

The death has taken place of Mary (May) Blair (née Ewing), December 21 2025, (peacefully) at Brooklands Nursing Home, Magherafelt, late of 29 Leitrim Road, Castledawson, beloved wife of the late John, much loved mother of John and William, loving grandmother of Jonathan and wife Jodie, Helen and Jillian, great grandmother of Taylor, dear mother-in-law of Edith and Yvonne, sister of the late Annabelle, Doris and Violet and a dear friend of Bobby and Margaret Laverty. Everyone welcome at her late home on Monday from 11.00am - 10.00pm. Funeral from her late residence on Tuesday at 12noon for burial in Ballyscullion Parish Churchyard, Bellaghy. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all the family circle. The Lord Is My Shepherd.

 

Thomas (Tommy) Boyd, 3 Kennaught Terrace, Limavady

Funeral arrangements for the late Thomas (Tommy) Boyd, December 19 2025, husband of Lorraine, loving father of Anthony, Gaven, Lisa and Niall, father-in-law of Victoria, devoted grandfather of Hayden, Deven, Lelah and Maria and dear brother of Anne, Angela, Pat, June, Sharon, Kevin, Stephen, Christopher and the late Valerie. His remains will be reposing in his home, 3 Kennaught Terrace, Limavady. Funeral from there on Tuesday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in Christ The King Church, Limavady. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to NI Chest Heart & Stroke. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.

 

John Thomas Proctor, 60 Ervey Road, Cross

The death has occurred of the late John Thomas Proctor, December 20 2025, suddenly at his home, 60 Ervey Road, Cross, beloved husband of Ann,  loving father of Gareth, Ryan and Sean Paul, father-in-law of Michaela and Rhonda, devoted grandfather of Aisha, Enya, Shayne, Ashton and Anna and dear brother of Seamus, Kathleen, Margaret, Geraldine, Angelo, Paul and Adrian. His remains will be reposing in his home.  Funeral from there on Tuesday at 11.25am for 12o'clock Requiem Mass in St Mary's Church, Tamnaherin. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please.  Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to NI Chest Heart & Stroke, Belfast or c/o any family member. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
