Jeff Carlisle, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Jeff Carlisle, Passed away peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on July 28 2025. Much loved husband of Libby, loving father of Kevin, Mark, Emma, Leanne, David, dear Father in law of Gerry, devoted grandfather of Jack, Eddie, Jensen, Camden and Louie. All welcome to call pay their respects to Jeff at Browns Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6.00pm to 8.00pm and Wednesday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. House strictly private. Funeral service will be held in Browns Funeral Home on Friday at 12noon followed by burial in Enagh Cemetery. Family flowers only please donations if desired and cheques payable to Foyle Hospice and forwarded to Browns Funeral Directors, 21 Aghanloo Ind Est, Aghanloo Road, Limavady. Will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his entire family circle.

 

Brian Joseph Conn, 28 Tully Road, Tamlaght, Limavady

The death has taken place of Brian Joseph Conn, July 27 2025, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, 28 Tully Road, Tamlaght, Limavady, dearly beloved son of Margaret and the late Victor, much loved brother of Ann, dear brother-in-law of Philip and beloved uncle of James and Ross. Service of Thanksgiving in Balteagh Presbyterian Church on Wednesday at 1.30pm. House private. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if, desired to Balteagh Presbyterian Church c/o James McMullan and Son, 22 High Street, Ballymoney, BT53 6AQ or online at mcmullanfunerals.com. The death has taken place of James Ian Forsythe, July 27 2025, (peacefully) at Antrim Area Hospital, dearly beloved husband of Sylvia, 21 Lindsayville, Ballyronan, much loved and devoted father of Arlene, Kenneth and Mark, dear father-in-law of Mark and Joanne, loving granda of Adam, Lee and James and dearest brother of Pearl, Gordon, Carol and the late Tom, Ronald and Brian. House strictly private. Family and friends welcome in Garvin’s Funeral Home, 15 Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt, BT45 6BP on Tuesday evening (July 29) from 7:00pm – 8:30pm. Funeral from Garvin’s Funeral Home on Wednesday (July 30) at 1:00pm for service in Saltersland Presbyterian Church at 1:45pm followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard. Michael Gerard (Gerry) Gallagher, 8 St. Aidan’s Terrace, Derry

It is with deep regret and sorrow we announce the passing of Michael Gerard (Gerry) Gallagher, July 28 2025, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at his home, 8 St. Aidan’s Terrace (formerly of Herbert Street), beloved husband of Dolores, loving father of Paula, Barbara, Caroline and the late Janet, dear father-in law to Mick, devoted grandfather to his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, dear son of the late Robert and Ellen, cherished brother of the late Kathleen, Jackie and Mona and a loving uncle to all his nephews and nieces. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle. Gerry will be reposing at his home. House private for family and close friends only from 10:00pm to 12noon. Funeral leaving his home on Wednesday, July 30 at 9:20am to St. Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Matilda (Tilly) Hargis, Ballycairn Road, Coleraine

The death has taken place of Matilda (Tilly) Hargis, Died July 26 2025, peacefully at Ratheane Nursing Home, Coleraine, late of Ballycairn Road, Coleraine. Dearly loved wife of the late Samuel, much loved mother of John, Brian, Pamela and the late Ken; adored nanny of nine (9) grandchildren and great-nanny of 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral service in Wades Funeral Home on Monday, August 4 2025 at 11.00am. Family flowers only please. May McGuigan (née Convery), 16 O’Hara Road, Maghera

The death has taken place of the late Mary (May the Butler) McGuigan (née Convery), July 28 2025, beloved wife of the late Tommy. Much loved mother of Sandra Church, Angela Diamond. Grandmother of Shane, Kerry, Cathy and Hannah, great grandmother of James, Éabha Ella-Rose and Tommy. Daughter of the late John and Rose and sister of Brian and the late Jim, Bridget Coogan and John. Late of 16 O’Hara Road, Maghera. House strictly private. May is reposing in J. A. Gormley’s Funeral Home, 1 Main Street, Maghera, on Tuesday, July 29 and Wednesday, July 30 from 4.00pm to 9.00pm, everyone welcome. Funeral will travel via O’Hara Road from J. A. Gormley’s Funeral Home on Thursday, July 31 at 10.20am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Glen. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. The death has taken place of Valentin Pucas, July 26 2025, Magherafelt (formerly Romania), beloved father of Anca, Daniel and loving grandfather of Rayoma, Katalina, Antonia and Daniel, great grandfather of Nicholas, Miayah, Eden and Luca. Funeral on Wednesday, July 30 for 2.00pm Requiem Mass in Church of St John Milltown, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Deeply regretted his family circle. Viewing in McCusker Bros Funeral Home, 10a Garden Street, Magherafelt on Tuesday, July 29 from 3.00pm to 5.00pm.

 

Derek James Steele, 106 Mountsandel Road, Coleraine

The death has taken place of the late Derek James Steele, Passed away peacefully on July 26 2025, at home, 106 Mountsandel Road, Coleraine. Dearly loved husband of Ashley and the late Rachel, and devoted father to Christopher, his wife Nicola and step-daughters Sara, Clare and Jenny. Funeral details to follow. Donations in lieu of flowers to Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity Derek supported for many years.

 

Margaret Vig (née Curran), 17 Erinvale Avenue, Kilfennan, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Margaret VIG (née Curran), July 26 2025, beloved wife of the late Paul, loving mother of Geeta, Surina, Anju, Suman, Rajesh, Annu and the late Nita, much loved grandmother of Paul, Britney, Chantelle, Shea, Sharifa, Vishal, Deon, Jaya and DJ and cherished great-grandmother of Harper and Kai. Her remains will be reposing in her home, 17 Erinvale Avenue, Kilfennan, on Tuesday from 10.00am to 9.00pm. Funeral from there on Wednesday at 10.10am for 11o'clock Requiem Mass in St Mary's Church, Tamnaherin. A private cremation will take place later. Queen of the most Holy Rosary pray for her.
