Phyllis Phyllis Victoria Kennedy Brown (née MacShane), Portstewart

The death has taken place of Phyllis Phyllis Victoria Kennedy Brown (née MacShane), Died peacefully on July 20 2025,  formerly of Prospect Avenue, Portstewart. Dearly beloved wife of the late Keith, much loved sister of Audrey, Olga and the late Winifred. Funeral service in St. Paul’s Parish Church, Garvagh on Thursday 24th July 2025 at 11.00am followed by interment in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please. The death has taken place of Robert Doey, July 16 2025, (suddenly) at his home, 23 Cypress Drive, Coleraine, dear father of Jonathan (and his fiancé Catherine), devoted grandad of Ethan, beloved son of the late John and Nellie, much loved brother of Billy, John, and the late Shirley and a dear brother-in-law and uncle. Service in Murdock’s Funeral Home, 2a Windsor Avenue, Coleraine on Friday at 11.00am followed by interment in Coleraine Cemetery. House strictly private. Deeply regretted by his loving family and entire family circle.

 

Mary Elizabeth (May) Lappin (née Spence), 10 May Street, Waterside, Derry

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth (May) Lappin (née Spence), July 20 2025 Peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast (surrounded by her loving family), much loved wife of the late Jackie, devoted mum of Jacqueline, Valerie and Annette, loving mother-in-law of David and Gary, adored granny of Gary, Lee, Victoria, Ryan and Peter, great-granny of Reece, Jodie, Morgan, Maisie, Chloe and Freya, dearest sister of Phyllis. Funeral leaving her late home, 10 May Street, Waterside on Wednesday, July 23 at 12noon followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for her life in Clooney Hall Methodist Church at 12.30pm, burial afterwards in Ballyoan Cemetery. At May’s personal request could any ladies attending the Funeral please wear brightly coloured clothes (not the usual black/dark colours). Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to Clooney Hall Methodist Church c/o Mr Richard Wray (Treasurer), Clooney Hall Methodist Church, 36 Clooney Terrace, Derry BT47 6AR. Everyone is welcome to call at the family home, 10 May Street, Waterside from 11.00am until 10.00pm. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her entire family circle. “To live in the hearts of those that we leave behind is not to die.”

The death has occurred of the late Sharee McConaghie, July 20 2025, peacefully at home, 360 Ballyness Park, Castleroe, Coleraine, loving daughter of Lynn and the late Alan, loving step-daughter of Danny, devoted mother of Ben, beloved sister of Simon, Trevor (Chantel), Danielle (Mark), Shannon (Alex), Chelsea (Jonny) and a dearly loved aunt. Service of Thanksgiving in Macosquin Presbyterian Church on Friday at 11.00am followed by interment in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please. The death has occurred of the late Lucy Patton (née Forrest), July 21 2025, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved wife of Liam, 7 Duke’s Lane, Ballykelly, loving mother of Sean and the late Gerard, cherished mother-in-law of Heather and Fiona, devoted grandmother of Pádraig, Dáire, Niamh, Ciara, Conor and Odhrán, daughter of the late James and Mary Forrest and dear sister of Donald, Nellie, Tommy, Deirdre, Gerard, Rita, Monica and the late Patsy, Marie, Kathleen, Francie and Michael. Her remains will be reposing in her home from 3.00pm on Tuesday. Funeral from there on Thursday at 11am for 11.30am Requiem Mass in St Finlough’s Church, Ballykelly. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time from 10.00pm to 12noon. Family flowers only please. Donations to Macmillan Cancer Support. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

The death has taken place of Desmond (Dessie) Pollock, July 19 2025, (Peacefully) at hospital, Kildollagh Lodge, 183 Loughan Road, Coleraine, dearly loved husband of Kathleen, dear father of Lynn, Gillian and Darren, a dear father-in-law and grandfather to his seven grandchildren. Service of Thanksgiving in 1st Coleraine Presbyterian Church on Wednesday at 3.00pm following a private committal. House Strictly Private. Family flowers only please. The death has taken place of the late Gwendoline Smyth (née Marshall), July 21 2025, late of Gortmore Place, Strathfoyle, loving mother of Stephen, Leanne, Julie and Peter, devoted grandmother of Emily, dear sister of Coleman, Dolores, Syl, Geraldine, Bernadette and the late Ian and Madeline and a much loved aunt. All are welcome to pay their respects at W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Tuesday from 6.00pm - 9.00pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St Oliver Plunkett’s Church, Strathfoyle on Wednesday at 11o’clock. Interment afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

The death has occurred of the late Stephen Tannahill, July 19 2025, (peacefully) at hospital, 193 Lisnablagh Road, Coleraine, dearly loved father of Adam and Victoria, much loved son of Nancy and the late William, dear brother of Gary and Deborah, brother-in-law of Mark and uncle of William. Service in his home on Wednesday at 11.00am followed by interment in 1st Dunboe Presbyterian Church Burying Ground, Articlave. Friends and family welcome at his home on Tuesday from 2.00pm to 9.00pm. Family flowers only please.
