Harry Anderson, 49 Rosemount Gardens, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Harry Anderson, July 9 2025, suddenly at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved husband of Agnes, 49 Rosemount Gardens, loving father of Julie, Karen, Paul, Darren and Ryan, father-in-law of Noel, Paul, Jennifer, Andrena and Aoife, devoted grandfather of Ben, Kate, Ava, Kayla, Odhran, Amber, Kayden, Cillian and Sam, cherished great-grandfather of Emma and dear brother of Lillian, Evelyn and the late Arthur. Deeply regretted by all the family circle. His remains will be reposing in his home. Funeral from there on Saturday at 12.30pm for 1o’clock funeral service in Christ Church, Infirmary Road. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to Chest Heart & Stroke NI. Peter Thomas Ballance, Belfast

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Peter Thomas Ballance peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast on July 9 2025, may he rest in peace. Late of Belfast and formerly Clonallon Road, Warrenpoint. Beloved father of Abigail and husband of Aisleain McGill. Son of the late Tommy and Lillian Ballance R.I.P and loving brother of Julia Young (Alan), Annie Ballance (Mickey Brannigan) and Joe (Fiona). Deeply missed by his lifelong friend Mark O’Hare. Deeply regretted by the Ballance and McGill family circles. Peter will be waked at his daughter Abigail and her mother Aisleain’s home, 6 Priory Lane, Dungiven, Co Derry, BT47 4PF. Funeral on Saturday, July 12 2025, leaving at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in Saint Patrick‘s Church Dungiven. Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Brendan (B.B.) Barrett, 44c Cromore Gardens, Derry

It is with regret we announce the passing of Brendan (B.B.) Barrett, July 10 2025, suddenly after a short illness, at Edenballymore Lodge Care Home, (formerly of Rinmore Drive), beloved husband of the late Margaret, loving son of the late Bridget and Patrick, cherished brother of Anne, Dolores and the late Michael, Jim, Colum, Margo, Rita and Kathleen and a devoted uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle. Brendan will be reposing at his home, 44c Cromore Gardens, on Friday, July 11 from 2:00pm. Funeral leaving his home on Saturday, July 12 at 9:20am to St. Mary’s Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. James Francis Stanislaus (Stan) Heron, 47 Magherafelt Road, Draperstown

The death has occurred of the late James Francis Stanislaus (Stan) Heron (Draperstown), July 8 2025, beloved husband of the late Patsy and loving father of Seamus and Anne-Marie, father in law of Regina and grandfather of Carla and Ella, son of the late James and Mary Ann and brother of Rosemary, John, Michael, Brigid, Charlie, Brian, Austin, Kathleen, Terence and the late Paddy. Funeral from his home, 47 Magherafelt Road, Draperstown on Friday, July 11 at 1.15pm for 2.00pm Requiem Mass in Church of St Columba Straw, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Deeply regretted by his large family circle and his former directors and colleagues as one of the founders of the Heron Bros Group, Draperstown. Family time from 10.00pm to 11.00am.

 

Thomas (Tommy) McKinley, 5 Faughan View Park, Altnagelvin, Derry

The death has taken place of Thomas (Tommy) McKinley, July 9 2025, Peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital (surrounded by his loving family in his 95th year) much loved father of Trevor, Wendy, Allison and the late Thomas, adored granda, great-granda and great-great-granda, loving brother of Kathleen and Audrey, a dear brother-in-law and uncle. Funeral leaving his late home, 5 Faughan View Park, Altnagelvin, on Sunday, July 13 at 12.30pm followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for his life in Glendermott Presbyterian Church at 1.00pm burial afterwards in the adjoining burial ground. Family flowers only donations in lieu if desired to Glendermott Presbyterian Church c/o Mrs Joanna Walker, 28, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ or Mission Without Borders, c/o 175, Tower Bridge Road, London SE1 2AG. Everyone is welcome to call and pay their respects to Tommy at the family home on Friday and Saturday from 11.00am until 9.00pm. Michael John Vander, Gorran Road, Coleraine

The death has occurred of the late Michael John Vander, July 9 2025, peacefully at Causeway Hospital, Gorran Road, Coleraine and formerly Salisbury, Wiltshire. Beloved husband of Sally, loving dad of Anne-Marie, father-in-law of Stephen and grandad of Mollie, Jamie, Kara and Rhys. House and funeral private by own request. Always remembered.

 

Mary Elizabeth Young (née Scott), 21 Drumlane Road, Tamlaght O'Crilly

The death has taken place of the late Mary Elizabeth Young (née Scott), July 9 2025, (suddenly) at her home, 21 Drumlane Road, Tamlaght O'Crilly, dearly loved Wife of Uel and loving Step-Mum of Ernie (Cindy), Uel (Michelle) and Andrew and their Families. All welcome at the Family home on Friday (July 11), Saturday (July 12) and Sunday (July 13) from 1:00pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Funeral will take place from her home on Monday, July 14 at 1:30pm, to Churchtown Presbyterian Church for service at 2:00pm, followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard.
