Monica Flanagan (née Smith), Maghera

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Monica Flanagan (née Smith), peacefully in the care of Marina Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 27 2025, Maghera (formerly Kilcreevy, Madden, Co Armagh). St. Anthony pray for her. Beloved daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Smith RIP, loving wife of the late John RIP and devoted mother to Kieran, Hilary McKenna, Shauna O’Hagan and the late Damian, Tony and Adrain RIP and dear sister of the late Joseph (baby), John, Seamus, Kate O’Hagan, Claire Smyth, Lily Murphy, Bridie Donnelly, MaryEllen O’Hagan, Annie Donnelly and Rose McGonagle RIP. Reposing at her daughter Hilary’s home, 4 Glenshane Manor, Ballyknock Road, Maghera BT46 5PW Co. Derry on Thursday, May 29 from 10.00am - 10.00pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Glen on Friday, May 30 at 11.00am, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Deeply regretted by her loving son, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law Paul and Ciaran, daughter-in-law Patrica, surviving brothers Mick and Anthony and sisters Margaret Gormley (Middletown) and Cecilia Powell (Armagh), nieces and nephews and extended family circle. Family flowers only please. Please note: House private on Friday morning, the family will assemble at Crawfordsburn at 10:20am for cortège to proceed to the church. May her gentle soul rest in peace

John McGarrigle, Windyhill Road, Limavady

The death has occurred of the late John McGarrigle, Passed away peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on May 27 2025, late of Windyhill Road, Limavady. Much loved husband of Ann, Loving father of katherine (Aidy), Heather (Neil) and the late Robert, Devoted grandfather of Alec and Ross also a dear brother. House strictly private. Funeral service will be held in Browns Funeral Home on Friday at 2.00pm followed by burial in Derramore Presbyterian Church Burial ground at 3.00pm. (All welcome to attend the funeral) Family flowers only please donations if desired and cheques payable to Derramore Presbyterian Church and forwarded to Browns Funeral Directors, 21 Aghanloo Ind Est, Aghanloo Road, Limavady. Will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his entire family circle.

Mary McMonagle (née McGlinchey), 23 Glendale Road, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Mary McMonagle (née McGlinchey), May 27 2025, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Altnagelvin Hospital, (formerly of Nailors Row and late of 48 Culmore Road), beloved wife of the late Bernard (Barney), loving mother of Laurence, Carmela, Mary, Charlie, Catherine, John and Sarah and a devoted granny, dear daughter of the late Laurence and Elizabeth McGlinchey and a cherished sister of Frankie, Charles, Jim, Martin and the late Laurence and Paddy. Mary will be reposing at her home, 23 Glendale Road. Funeral leaving her home on Friday, May 30 at 9:20am to St. Columba’s Church, Long Tower for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for her.

Dr Kanwarjit Singh Panesar MB LRCP FRCS FRCS Ed O.B.E., Derry

The death has occurred of the late Dr Kanwarjit Singh Panesar MB LRCP FRCS FRCS Ed O.B.E., May 14 2025, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved husband of Iqbal, loving father of Deshpal and Tej, cherished father-in-law of Baljit and Nadia and devoted grandfather of Inés. Everyone are welcome to pay their respects at W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Thursday, May 29 in the Derry Gurdwara, Simpsons Brae BT476DL, from 11.30am - 1.00pm. Cremation service will take place in Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium, Doagh Road, Newtownabbey, BT36 5BU, at 3.00pm. Funeral service at the Derry Gurdwara from 6.00pm onwards.

Brian Charles Robert Taylor, Maple Drive, Coleraine

The death has taken place of the late Brian Charles Robert Taylor, May 26 2025, after a long illness, borne with dignity and courage, late of Maple Drive, Coleraine. Devoted Daddy of Kerry and father-in-law of Nicholas; beloved son of the late Charles and Myrtle, cherished brother of Joan, brother-in-law of George and much-loved partner of Angela. A loving uncle, fondly remembered by all his family and friends. House private, family only please. Funeral Service in Wades Funeral Home, Coleraine, on Thursday, June 5 at 10.30am, followed by Service of Committal at Antrim & Newtownabbey Crematorium at 3.00pm. Family flowers only.
