Brigid (Christina) Carlin (née McLaughlin), 9 Bracken Park, Derry

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Brigid (Christina) Carlin (née McLaughlin), peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on February 3 2025. Late of 9 Bracken Park and formerly of 74 Tamnaherin Road. May she rest in peace. Beloved wife of the late Gerry. Devoted mother of Malachy, Colm, Dermot, Brige, Siobhan, Aidan, Brian, Fiona and the late Fergal. A much loved mother-in-law. Loving granny to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A dear sister to all of her brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Brigid’s remains will be reposing at her late residence, 9 Bracken Park. Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday, February 5 at 10:20am for 11o’clock Requiem Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Galliagh. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. Wake house will be private from 10.00pm until 11.00am. Amanda Lennox (née McColgan), 3 Knocklynn Grove, Coleraine

The death has occurred of the late Amanda Lennox (née McColgan), January 31 2025, suddenly at home, 3 Knocklynn Grove, Coleraine, dearly loved daughter of Michael and Marjorie, loving sister of Jacqui, Christopher and the late Dominic, sister-in-law of Colin and Elaine and dear aunt of Simon, Kirsty, Sara and Chloe. Family and friends are welcome to call at her parent's home, 13 Knocksandel Drive, Coleraine. Funeral service in St. Malachy's Church, Coleraine on Wednesday at 11.00am (live stream link: https://www.youtube.com/StMalachysChapelColeraine to view) followed by interment in St. Aidan's Cemetery, Magilligan. Family flowers only please. We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of the late Phyllis Lyle (née Moore), February 2 2025, (suddenly, but peacefully) at her home, 74 Draperstown Road, Desertmartin, beloved Wife of David, loving Mother of Kathryn, Gillian, Audrey, Victoria and Richard, a dear Mother-in-Law of Ray, Darren, Damien and Claire, much adored Nana of Poppy, Harrison, Sophia, Eloise and Gracie and loving Sister of June, Melody and Brenda. House private. Wake and funeral arrangements to follow. “Too good in life to be forgotten in death”

 

Eithne McCafferty (née Rainey), 2A Kingsfort Park, Derry

Eithne McCafferty (née Rainey), February 3 2025, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, loving mother of Paul, Colette, Nuala, Patricia, Michael and Martin, Nana to her cherished 16 grandchildren, dear mother-in-law to Cindy, Kevin, Cathal, Kathleen and Vicki, devoted sister of Desmond, Colette, Enda and the late Fr. Sean, Brian and Brendan and a loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Eithne will be reposing at her home, 2A Kingsfort Park on Tuesday and Wednesday from 12noon to 10.00pm. Funeral leaving her home on Thursday, February 6 at 9:20am to St. Eugene’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only donations in lieu if wished to Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry, BT48 8JE. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Ellen McIlmoyle, 33 Edenmore Road, Limavady

The death has taken place of the late Ellen McIlmoyle, Passed away peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital surrounded by her loving family on February 3 2025. Dearly loved daughter of the late Sammy and Daisy, loving sister of Annie, Ena, Cathy, Ada and the late George and Walter also a devoted Aunt and Great Aunt. House private close friends and family. Funeral service will be held in her late home, 33 Edenmore Road, Limavady on Wednesday at 12.30pm Followed by burial in Drumachose Presbyterian Church. (All welcome to attend the Funeral.) Sarah Spence (Sadie) McLaughlin, 12 Rossdowney Drive, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Sarah Spence (Sadie) McLaughlin, February 2 2025, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in Ardlough Care Home. Dearly beloved Wife of the late Eric. Devoted Mother of Margaret, Isabel, John and Louis. Dear Mother-in-law of Terrence, William, Allison and Jillian. Loving Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Funeral service in her late home, 12 Rossdowney Drive on Wednesday, February 5 at 12noon followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. The death has occurred of the late Maureen McLean (née Addidle), Called Home February 2 2025, (peacefully) at The Royal Victoria Hospital, loving Wife of the late William, formerly of 16 Rectory Road, Tobermore, beloved Mother of Judith, Ryan and Lynne, a dear Mother-in-Law of David and Melvyn, much adored Granny of Jack, Jessica, Scott, Levi and Cole and dearest Sister of David, Sandra and the late Jackie, Doris, Marshall, Alan and Anne. All welcome at D. Watters Funeral Home, Tobemore on Tuesday evening (February 4) from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Funeral will take place from D. Watters Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 5 at 1:30pm, to Kilcronaghan Parish Church for service at 2:00pm, followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please. Charles McMurray, Castledawson

The death has taken place of the late Charles McMurray (Castledawson, Co. Derry), January 6 2025. Suddenly at Drapersfield Nursing Home, Cookstown, cherished father of Terry and much loved grandfather of Nicola, Liam and Ryan and brother of Jean Zammit, Belle Devlin, Patsy Donnelly, Brendan and the late Peggy Arrell, Cassie Harris, Maureen Marlow, Eileen Spiteri, Evelyn Piotrowski, Johnny, Theresa Grant and Noel formerly Castledawson, Co. Derry. May he Rest In Peace. A graveside burial will take place on Sunday, February 9 at 2.00pm in the Church of St John, Milltown, Castledawson Road, Magherafelt. A memorial mass will take place at a later date. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken son, Terry’s partner Jeanette, grandchildren, Nicola’s husband Brian, great-grandchildren Bethany and Paige, nephews, nieces and the entire family circle.

The death has taken place of the late Stephen Mullen, February 1 2025, peacefully at hospital, 10 Somerset Crescent, Coleraine. Dearly loved husband of Teresa, loving brother of David, Barbara and Heather and dear uncle of Claire, Lisa, Louise, Alison, Colin, Stacey, and Hayley. Family and friends are welcome to call at the family home on Tuesday from 2.00pm - 4.00pm and 7.00pm - 9.00pm. Funeral Service in Wades Funeral Home, Coleraine on Thursday at 11.30am followed by cremation at Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium at 2.00pm. Family flowers only please. The death has taken place of the late Rose Murray (née Lee), (Bellaghy), February 2 2025, beloved wife of the late Francie, daughter of the late John and Mary Lee, loving sister of Sean, Peggy and the late Jimmy, Terry and Mary E. Funeral from her home, 64 Oldtown Road on Wednesday, February 5 at 10.30am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in Church of St. Mary Bellaghy, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Deeply regretted by her brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and extended family circle. 

 

Jim Tohill, 20 Mullan Road, Kilrea

Funeral Arrangements for the late Jim Tohill, died February 3 2025. Everyone welcome to call at Jim’s former home, 20 Mullan Road, Kilrea on Tuesday from 1.00pm to 10.00pm. Peacefully at Causeway Hospital, son of the late John and Mary Ann; loving brother of Noreen (Mitchell) and the late Pat, Willie, Raymond, Mary, Rosaleen, Peggy, Gerry and Ella and a much loved uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. Funeral from his former home, 20 Mullan Road, on Wednesday at 1:20pm for 2.00pm Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Drumagarner. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. St. Pio pray for him. Deeply regretted by the entire family circle. No flowers please.
