Ernest (Ernie) Bowman, 24 Parker Avenue, Castledawson

The death has occurred of the late Ernest (Ernie) Bowman, called home,January 16 2025, (peacefully) at Antrim Area Hospital, 24 Parker Avenue, Castledawson, dearly beloved husband of June, much loved and devoted father of Paul and Jayne, dear father-in-law of Valerie and John, cherished grandfather of Erin, Talitha, Selah, Emilie and Megan and dearest brother of Jean and the late Robert James, Evelyn, Matt, Ray and Lily. House strictly private. Family and friends welcome in Garvin’s Funeral Home, 15 Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt, BT45 6BP on Sunday evening (January 19) from 7:00pm – 8:30pm. Funeral from his home on Monday (January 20) at 1:30pm for service in Castledawson Presbyterian Church at 2:00pm followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, for The Faith Mission payable to Garvin’s Funeral Service (Donation’s A/c). Will always be loved and remembered by his family and the entire family circle.

 

Eamon Kerlin, 14 Oak Park, Draperstown

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of the late Eamon Kerlin (London), Son of the late John and Kathleen and brother of Sean (Marina) and Michael. Funeral from the family home 14 Oak Park, Draperstown at 11.30am for 12 o’clock Requiem Mass in St.Patrick’s Church Moneyneena on Sunday, January 19. Burial immediately afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery Altinure Park. Deeply regretted by his brothers, sister in law and entire family circle.

 

Thomas Lundy, 11a Castlerock Road, Coleraine

The death has taken place of the late Thomas Lundy, January 17 2025 (peacefully) at hospital, 11a Castlerock Road, Coleraine, dearly beloved husband of the late Agnes, much loved father of Paul, Timothy and Ronan, father-in-law of Vivien, Isobel and the late Mary-Rose, grandfather to Anna, Michael, Ellen, Jordan, Sarah, Finn, Conor and Rose and great-grandfather of Margaux and Alby. Funeral from his home on Monday at 9.30am for 10.00am Mass in St. Johns Church followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. House strictly private. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing family and entire family circle.

 

John Joseph McAlorum, Rosseden Drive, Limavady

The death has taken place of the late John Joseph McAlorum, January 17 2025, at his home, Rosseden Drive, Limavady, beloved husband of the late Marianne, loving father of Terry, Marguerite, Michaeline and the late Sean, dear father-in-law of Sinead, Briedge, Frankie and Phil and much loved grandfather of Michael, Terrieane, Connor, Kurtis, Daniel and Georgia. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Saturday evening from 6.00pm - 8.00pm. Interment will take place on Sunday in Enagh Cemetery at 1.00pm. House private please.

 

Lewis McCafferty, 5 Ardcaien, Culmore Road, Derry

The death has taken place of the late Lewis McCafferty, January 2025 peacefully at the Foyle Hospice after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family, loving husband of Christine, much-loved father of Áine, father-in-law of Paul, devoted Papa of Sarah and Rónán and dear brother of Brian, Kathleen and the late Charlie, Liam, Michael, John, Raymond, Pamela and Isobel. His remains will be reposing in his home, 5 Ardcaien, Culmore Road on Saturday from 2.00pm – 9.00pm. Funeral from there on Sunday at 10.30am for 11o’clock funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown. Interment afterwards in Ballyoan cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to the Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry, BT48 8JE. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for him. Love. Peace. Kindness.

 

Mary Elizabeth (Betty) McGeehan (née Shiels), 21 Clonliffe Park, Culmore

The death has taken place of the late Mary Elizabeth (Betty) McGeehan (née Shiels), January 16 2025, beloved wife of Charlie, 21 Clonliffe Park, Culmore, loving mother of the late John, mother-in-law of Louise, devoted grandmother of Rosaleen and a much loved sister and aunt. Her remains will be reposing in her home. Funeral from there on Saturday at 9.25am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Columba’s Church, Longtower. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. House private please. Family and close friends only. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to the Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry, BT48 8JE. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

 

Patrick McLaughlin, Meadownbank Care Home, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Patrick McLaughlin, January 17 2025 peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, late of Meadownbank Care Home, Trench Road, beloved son of the late Patrick and Kathleen and loving brother of Charlie, Colm and the late Denis. His remains will be reposing in Meadowbank Care Home from 4.00pm on Saturday. Removal from there on Sunday at 5.00pm to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Trench Road for Requiem Mass on Monday at 11o’clock. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.

 

Richard Smith (Dickie) Montgomery, 1 Sycamore Gardens, Drumahoe

We regret to inform you that the death has occurred of the late Richard Smith (Dickie) Montgomery, January 16 2025, Peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital (surrounded with love) much loved and devoted husband of Elizabeth, loving brother of Jean and the late Rita, dearest brother-in-law of Kathleen. Funeral leaving his late home, 1 Sycamore Gardens, Drumahoe, on Saturday, January 18 at 12noon, followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for his life in St Augustine’s Parish Church at 12.30pm burial afterwards in Altnagelvin Cemetery. Family flowers only donations in lieu if desired to St Augustine’s Parish Church c/o Mrs Deirdre Amore, 26, Stoneypath, Drry BT47 2AF. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his entire family circle. “In heavenly love abiding”

 

Ben Woods, Drumfries

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Ben Woods (Drumfries and formerly Muckamore), January 9 2025, beloved husband of Philomena (nee Hughes) and loving father of Christopher, Christine and Kerry, son of the late Joseph and Jean and dear brother of Fiona and the late Greer. Ben’s remains will arrive Church of St. Mary Bellaghy on Wednesday, January 22 at 7.00pm, Requiem Mass on Thursday, January 23 at 11.00am, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Deeply regretted by his wife, son, daughters, daughter in law, sons in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister, nephews, nieces and extended family circle and friends.
