Madonna Canning, 67 Kingslane, Ballykelly

The death has occurred of Madonna Canning, 19th February 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital. Beloved daughter of Margaret and the late Leo, sister of Conal, Declan, Dominic. Gavin and Leona. Deeply regretted by all the family circle. Funeral from her home, 67 Kingslane, Ballykelly on Thursday at 9.20am for Requiem Mass at 10.00am in St Finlough’s Church Ballykelly followed by interment in adjoining Cemetery. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

Cecil Peter Gorman, 15 Moss Park, Galliagh, Derry

The death has taken place of Cecil Peter Gorman, 19th February 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, late of 15 Moss Park, Galliagh. Beloved husband of Beidgeen, loving father of Bridie, Eileen, Mary, Margaret, Joseph, and Kerry. A much loved grandfather and great-grandfather. Deeply regretted by all the family circle. Family and friends welcome at O’Brien’s of Limavady Funeral Home, 10 Ballyclose Street, Limavady on Tuesday from 2.00pm to 5.00pm and Wednesday from 4.00pm. Cecil’s remains will leave on Wednesday at 5.15pm to repose overnight in St Joseph’s Church Galliagh. Requiem Mass will be held in St Joseph’s on Thursday at 12noon followed by interment in City Cemetery. Family flowers only please donations in lieu to Foyle Hospice 61 Culmore Road Derry BT47 8JE. Joe Melarkey, formerly of Waterside, Derry

The death has taken place oj Joe Melarkey, 18th February 2023, at Altnagelvin Hospital, 16 Woodbury Heights, Ballymagorry
and formerly of Waterside, Derry. Beloved husband of Maria (née O`Kane, Swatragh), much loved father of Joseph and Aine, dearly loved son of Margaret and the late Peter, son-in law of Carmel and the late John O`Kane and brother of Donna, Peter, Mark, Paul and the late Shane. Reposing at his home. Funeral leaving his home on Wednesday (22nd February) at 9.20am
for Requiem Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Derry Road, Strabane at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, son, daughter, mother, brothers, sister, mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and family circle. Gary Kieran Moore, formerly of 42 St Columba’s Walk, Greysteel

The death has taken place of Gary Kieran Moore, 9th January 2023, in Loughborough, England, formerly of 42 St Columba’s Walk, Greysteel, beloved husband of Kim, loving father of Chloe-Rose and Kadee-Leigh, son of the late Hughie and Rosie and dear brother of Virginia, Michael, Jennifer, Aiden, Stephen, Collette and Terry. Gary’s funeral service will take place in St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Loughborough on Friday, 17th February 2023 at 4.00pm. A private cremation will take place later. Gary’s remains will be reposing in the family home, 42 St Columba’s Walk, Greysteel on Friday, 24th February 2023 from 10.00am to 10.00pm. Funeral Mass will then be celebrated in Star of the Sea Church, Faughanvale on Saturday, 25th February 2023 at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Ellen Olphert, 1 Sheskin Gardens, Derry

The death has taken place of Ellen Olphert, 20th February 2023, (peacefully at home), 1 Sheskin Gardens. Dearly beloved mother of Glynis and Derek, a loving grandmother of Sarah Jane and great grandmother of Daniel. A funeral service will take place in her late home on Wednesday, 22nd February 2023 at 12noon followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. House Private. Ellen will be sadly missed by her entire family circle and friends. The Lord Is My Shepherd.

Mary Elizabeth Rafferty (née Burke), 12 Drumbane Road, Garvagh

The death has taken place of Mary Rafferty (née Burke), 20th February 2023, (peacefully) at home, beloved wife of the late Dessie R.I.P., loving mother of Colette (McGrath), Goretti (O’Kane), Basil, Annette, Kieran, Joan (Boyle), Kevin, Donna (Guy), Roisin (McAlister) and the late Christina (O’Kane), dearest mother-in-law and much adored grandmother to her 31 grandchildren. Dear sister of Danny, Eileen McClements, Celine McAllister, Bridie, Patricia Keenan, James, Bernadette Farren, Christina Steenson, Tommy, Carmel Quigg and the late Rose Hegarty and infant John. N.B. Mary’s wake will commence this evening (Monday) at 6.00pm. Family time from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Funeral from her late residence, 12 Drumbane Road, Garvagh, BT51 5DR, on Wednesday at 11:45am for 12:30pm Requiem Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Glenullin. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
