Police in Limavady have made an arrest following a report of a man armed with a knife who left two cyclists “shaken.”
The incident occurred in the Roe Mill Road area on Wednesday evening.
PSNI Superintendent Yvonne McManus said: “We received a report at around 6:50pm [on Wednesday] that a man with a knife had jumped out at two males who were cycling through the local forest park.
“Officers attended the scene and spoke with the men, who were thankfully not injured but were nevertheless shaken by the encounter.
“A 34-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing an article with a blade or point in a public place and on three counts of common assault. He remains in police custody at this time. Our enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information can contact the police on 101, quoting reference number 1400 of 08/04/26.
