Man charged to court following shots in Dungiven

Police investigating a report of shots being fired in the Drumrane Road area of Dungiven on Sunday, 14 September, have charged a man to court. 

The 40-year-old has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possessing a firearm in suspicious circumstances. He has further been charged with possession of a loaded firearm whilst drunk or under influence of drugs.

He is due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 8 October.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
