Dawsons Restaurant which was broken into on Sunday
A popular restaurant in a County Derry village has been burgled.
Dawson’s Restaurant in the Main Street area of the Castledawson was broken into and burgled in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The restaurant shared the news of the break in on Facebook saying how “disappointed” they are that this has happened and wanted to give local businesses and residents a head’s up.
The post stated four males broke into the property and stole several items.
A spokesperson for the restaurant explained what happened and thanked police and community for their help.
“They walked up past the Chinese and The Inn and proceeded to break into our building and steal a number of items. With the help of a close by business and the police, these individuals were successfully identified and we have been provided with their names and photographs of all involved.
“As of today we have installed additional CCTV, new locks and other additional security measures.
“We have been in this wonderful town for 8 years and nothing like this has ever happened. It's a sad day that we have to say this but please please be vigilant and ensure your businesses and homes are well secured and safe.
“We assume we have enough evidence already however if you happen to have dashcam footage around 1.30am last night which includes 4 hooded individuals or if anyone has any CCTV or doorbell footage please have a look and share it with us as every little really does help!
“A huge thank you to those who helped, please feel free to share and please look out for each other!”
