Samuel William (Maurice) Ferguson, 21 Bond’s Street, Waterside, Derry

The death has taken place of Samuel William (Maurice) Ferguson, August 15 2025, Peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital (in the tender loving care of his family) much loved husband of Margaret (Rita), devoted father of Maurice and Leanne, loving father-in-law of Lisa, adored grandad of Kim and Nicole, dearest brother of the late Violet, Evelyn, Robbie, Major and Ken, he will be greatly missed by his devoted dog Novo. Funeral leaving his late home, 21 Bond’s Street, Waterside on Monday, August 18 at 11.00am. followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for his life in Waterside Presbyterian Church at 11.30am, burial afterwards in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family home is strictly private. Family flowers only donations in lieu if desired to (cheques made payable to) W.H.& S.C.T Altnagelvin Hospital Ward 40 c/o Cash Office, Altnagelvin Hospital, Glenshane Road, Derry, BT47 6SB. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his entire family circle. “The Lord is my Shepherd”

 

Richard (Rory) McCallion, 7 Moykeeran Crescent, Draperstown

We regret to inform you of the death of Richard (Rory) McCallion (Draperstown), Died August 14 2025, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, devoted and beloved husband of the late Margaret (née McBride), much loved father of Paul, Ann and Cathy, loving father-in-law of Celeste and proud grandfather of Luke and Kara. Son of the late John and Susan McCallion and brother of the late Paddy, Michael (Mael), Donaugh and Margaret Miskella. Rory is reposing at his home, 7 Moykeeran Crescent, Draperstown. Family time from 10.00pm to 12noon please. Funeral from his home on Sunday, August 17 at 11:30am for 12noon Requiem Mass in the Holy Rosary Church, Draperstown (Mass can be viewed on the parish webcam https://www.churchservices.tv/draperstown) followed by interment in cemetery adjoining St. Columba’s Church, Straw. Deeply regretted by his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and wider family circle. St. Jean Baptiste De La Salle pray for him. Family flowers only please. May McColgan (née O'Hara), 23 Monnaboy Road, Eglinton

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of May McColgan (née O'Hara), August 14 2025, beloved wife of the late John, loving mother of Kathleen, Margaret, Ethna, Shaun, May, Angela, Michael, Vivienne, Avena, Jacinta and the late Berna, a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother and dear sister of the late Pat, Johnny and Lily. May will be reposing in her home, 23 Monnaboy Road, Eglinton. Funeral from there on Sunday at 11.20am for 12o’clock funeral Mass in Star of the Sea Church, Faughanvale. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

 

Seamus McMahon, 21 Baronscourt, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Seamus McMahon, August 14 2025, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved husband of Catherine, loving father of David, Donal, Mark and Maria, father-in-law of Nuala and Leona, devoted grandfather of Orla, Niamh, Charlie and Eimear and dear brother of Marie-Therese, Eileen and Colette. Seamus will be reposing in his home, 21 Baronscourt, on Saturday and Sunday from 3.00pm – 6.00pm. Funeral from there on Monday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown. Interment afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ballybrack, Moville, Co Donegal. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to Trocaire. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
