On Friday, June 27, the small village of Burnfoot just outside Dungiven, welcomed an incredible display of tractors to raise vital funds for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland with a tractor run and family fun evening.

The event was organised by Burnfoot Community Hub, in memory of Isaac Roxborough (14), who tragically lost his life as a result of a quad bike accident on June 26 2024.

Isaac lived in Burnfoot with his mum Katrina, dad Mark and brothers Adam and James. He had a love of farming from a very early age and a keen interest in tractors, owning three of his own.

The event, which is in its second year, raised a total of £25,000 for Air Ambulance.

Roxborough family members, including Isaac's parents Mark and Katrina, along with brothers Adam and James have extended their deepest gratitude to all who supported the recent tractor, car, and lorry run held in memory of their beloved son.

They said: “What began as a tribute to Isaac’s passion for farming blossomed into a cross-community celebration of his life. From gleaming tractors to roaring engines, from sheep shearing displays to stock judging competitions, fireworks, and the unforgettable performance from the Paul Kelly Band — the event reflected everything that Isaac loved so dearly. It was a beautiful reminder of how one young life can bring people together in shared joy and remembrance.

“Over the past year, more than £80,000 has been raised for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland in Isaac’s memory — a testament to the generosity and compassion shown by individuals, families, businesses, and organisations near and far.

“Our heartfelt thanks go to every business and volunteer who contributed in any way — whether through sponsorship, donation, or time.

“We remain overwhelmed, humbled, and deeply comforted by the kindness shown during this past year. Isaac’s spirit lives on through every tractor that roared in tribute, every display of rural life, and every conversation sparked by his memory.”

Isaac is remembered as a very happy and cheerful boy with a great sense of humour, he is sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Air Ambulance Northern Ireland works in partnership with Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) to provide the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) across the region.

The HEMS team were tasked and worked alongside their NIAS colleagues to provide Isaac with the best emergency critical care both at the scene and during transfer to the Royal Victoria Hospital, but unfortunately Isaac didn’t make it.
