March Against Genocide’ in Bellaghy,

Last week on Tues Oct 8th, hundreds took part in a ‘March Against Genocide’ in Bellaghy, South Derry. Organised by the Mid Ulster Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign, protesters marched from outside Heaney Homeplace, to the Bellaghy Bawn.

Participants marched for peace in the Middle East and for an end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen and beyond. As well as for an end to US military and weapons being ferried through Shannon and Aldergrove.

The crowd held a large “Red line” signifying the governments of the world continuously crossing the red lines of genocide, and the fact that normal people are having to step up and draw the red line.

Speakers included Civil Rights Campaigner Bernadette McAliskey, Gaza-born Author & Campaigner Saeb Shaath, and members of the Mid Ulster IPSC Colleen Kelly, Pádraig MacNiocáill, Caoimhe Anderson & Marlene Bovill Ní Bhrolcháin.
