A 79 year-old County Derry man, who is accused of a catalogue of historical sexual offences, is to face judge and jury next month.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faces three rape charges, ten counts of indecent assault on a female and five counts of gross indecency with or towards a child.
The defendant is further charged with buggery with a woman.
The alleged offences are thought to have occurred on unknown dates between January 31, 1990 and January 30, 1994.
Appearing before a preliminary enquiry held at Magherafelt Magistrates Court this morning, the defendant confirmed he understood the charges brought before the court.
When asked if he wanted to say anything in relation to the charges, he stated: “Not at this stage.”
The defendant also declined to call any witnesses or give evidence.
Deputy District Judge Oonagh Mullan said she believed there was a prima facie case to answer.
The defendant was released on his own bail of £750 to be returned for trial on October 5 at Derry Crown Court.
