Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed the news that the Council is to resolve a number of issues at the pitch and play park in the centre of the Glen Estate .

Councillor Cooper said: “I have been liaising with the Council to have a number of issues resolved at the pitch and play park in the centre of the Glen Estate .

"I was contacted by users of the park with complaints that the nets at the pitches were in a bad way and needed replaced. That is now going to happen plus other work is to be carried out such as  power hosing the park and removing the likes of graffiti.

"The park was long fought for over many years so it is important to keep it in the best condition we can.

"Its anticipated that the council will carry out this work in the next few weeks."
