The inaugural Causeway Festival of Learning is taking place from Monday 18th March to Sunday 24th March 2024, with a jam-packed programme of events and activities anticipated across the Borough.
Causeway Coast and Glens Labour Market Partnership (LMP) is now seeking partners who can deliver events and initiatives as part of the festival, with a grant of £500 per event available to the voluntary and community sector.
Launching the Causeway Festival of Learning Fund, Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Steven Callaghan said: “The Causeway Festival of Learning is an exciting pilot project, which aims to promote and encourage engagement in lifelong
learning across our Borough.
“Community groups and social enterprises can access a grant of up to £500 to run events during the festival. This funding can cover marketing costs, catering, materials, awards, venue costs and travel. I would encourage organisations across the Borough to consider taking part in this new programme.”
The 5 themes for events and initiative for Causeway Festival of Learning Week are:
- Celebrating previous learning
- Promoting upcoming learning
- Learning taster sessions
- Inspire and engage
- Encouraging Best Practice
Marc McGerty, Manager of Causeway Coast and Glens LMP added: “Work is well underway to develop Causeway Festival of Learning. We are really excited to have funding from the Department for Communities to support organisations to run events
and initiatives.
“This initiative can provide funding of up to 100% costs up to a maximum of £500, and match funding is not a requirement.
“Grants will be released upfront upon evidence and confirmation of the event or initiative commencing.
“We are hoping to support 16 events across the Borough through the Festival Fund, however, if we are oversubscribed with good projects and applications, we will increase this!”

The application deadline for the Festival Fund is 12 noon on Thursday 29th February 2024.
