Derry City and Strabane District Council has announced the return of the Love LegenDerry Food Month, taking place throughout February 2026 across the Derry and Strabane district.
This month-long celebration will once again showcase the region’s exceptional food culture, innovative producers and vibrant hospitality community.
A number of flagship events are already in development, promising food lovers a flavoursome four weeks of memorable, locally inspired experiences and activities.
Speaking at the launch, Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Ruairí McHugh, said the 2026 edition reflects the district’s growing profile as a leading food destination.
“Love LegenDerry Food Month is one of the highlights of our cultural calendar, celebrating the people, places and produce that make our district truly unique,” he said. “February 2026 will bring together our chefs, makers and producers to showcase not only our outstanding food offering but also the warmth and creativity of this region.”
Visitors can expect cookery workshops, food tours, tastings, and opportunities to discover the very best in local ingredients and culinary talent.
Tourism Manager with Council, Jennifer O’Donnell, encouraged visitors and locals alike to add the event to their diaries. “The programme continues to grow each year, and 2026 promises to be our most exciting edition yet,” she said.
“Whether you’re interested in hands-on classes, outdoor adventures or tasting experiences, Love LegenDerry Food Month offers something for every kind of foodie. We look forward to welcoming everyone as we celebrate the rich flavours and stories of our City and District.”
