The leisure facilities at Brooke Park and the City Baths in William Street will open on weekdays at the earlier time of 6.30am from Monday July 31st until Sunday August 20th to accommodate users of the Templemore Sports Complex which will be partially closed during those dates.

All indoor facilities at the Complex will close for three weeks from the end of this month to accommodate £200,000 of refurbishment work and essential maintenance at the centre.

Outdoor pitches, access to the running track and normal reception operations will still be available during the temporary closure.

To minimise disruption, customers will have access to the facilities at Foyle Arena, Brooke Park Leisure and Sports Centre and the City Baths during the closure.

Brooke Park and the City Baths will open from 6.30am until 9.45pm from MondayFriday during the closure and from 9.00am until 5.45pm at the weekend while the Foyle Arena opening hours will remain the same.

The Brooke Park Sports Centre officially opened its doors to the public at the end of November and is home to a gymnasium, activity room, matted studio and boxing club with classes and activities held throughout the week.

The building includes over £100,000 worth of state of the art fitness equipment with the gymnasium boasting cutting edge technology with screens on its treadmills and bikes that allow users to access their social media accounts and various running and cycling programmes.

Of particular use to runners is an application that can replicate local routes on the treadmill, allowing them to effectively prepare for races such as the Waterside Half Marathon.
