The security alert at the Carnamuff Road, Ballykelly has now ended.
Army Technical Officers have finished at the scene and the alert has been declared an elaborate hoax.
Two objects have been removed for further forensic examination.
Enquiries are continuing and police are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Carnamuff Road area over the last few days to contact them.
