An award winning film about Derry's River Foyle is set to be shown for the first time in Derry this weekend.

'Tides' is being shown as part of an outdoor pop up cinema event hosted by the Future Foyle team at Ebrington Square on Saturday night.

The event gave out 1000 free tickets in just five days and the organisers are currently exploring the option of making more tickets available.

There will also be other arts and performance from the likes of Echo Echo, The Verbal, The Playhouse, UV Arts, Momentum and the Void Gallery.

The night will also feature a discussion for feedback on the health and wellbeing issues surrounding the River Foyle.

Guests will get the chance to give genuine input and say on the regeneration of the riverfront commenting on proposals being shown to the public for the first time.

There will also be local food and drinks on offer.

Director of Tides Alessandro Negrini will attend the screening and give an introduction.

A spokesperson for the event said: "Please wrap up warm and feel free to bring camping chairs or extra blankets and such to get cosy."
