One of Derry’s best known haunted buildings has been put up for sale.
The former Workhouse building at Glendermott Road has been put on the market for a price of £450,000.
The building has played a key role in the life of Derry over the past 200 years and folklore has it that some of the ghosts from the past still wander around the corridors of the listed building.
The Derry Workhouse opened in 1840.
Workhouses were found throughout Ireland in the 19th century a result of the Poor Law.
The poor and the destitute were taken into the workhouses, deloused and set to work at a range of menial tasks.
Discipline was notoriously strict and the atmosphere and surroundings were designed to make people leave the workhouses as soon as possible.
The Derry Workhouse was built to house 800 inmates.
It closed in 1947.
