Eighty six businesses in Derry have been declared bankrupt in the last year, new figures have revealed.

That is the highest number of bankruptcles of any area in Northern Ireland.

The figures were revealed following a question at the Stormont Assembly from Foyle SDLP Assemblyman Colum Eastwood.

In the Foyle constituency, there were a total of 57 consumer bankruptcies last year.

During the same period, 29 sole traders in the local area were declared bankrupt.
