Derry 'ploggers' make a great job of cleaning up 'The Line' greenway

Fifty 'ploggers' - keep-fit fanatics who like to pick up litter as they go - assembled this morning to take part in the first Big Clean Up of Derry's riverside greenway.

The group, consisting of all ages and sizes, filled 22 paper sacks with rubbish, cleared up quite a bit of glas,s and safely dealt with a few saucepans and a shopping trolley.

The event, which was run by Council in partnership with Keep NI Beautiful as part of Coca Cola’s Clean Coasts Week, included  a plastic-free lunch for volunteers.
