A new store which is expected to open in the Skeoge area of Derry in November of this year is to create 50 jobs locally. The new Eurospar store will mark the latest development in the area which has seen a huge growth in housing over recent years, bringing hundreds of new residents to the Skeoge area. It also marks the latest addition to the Lynch family’s network of stores across the county, with recruitment currently underway for available posts, which will be a mixture of full and part-time positions. The new store will include a post office, a deli counter, butchers and local bakery and an ATM amongst its services. Open positions include an Assistant Manager, Deli Supervisor, Butchery Supervisor and a Post-Office Supervisor. Speaking ahead of the planned opening, Store Manager, Ivor Doherty said the new store represented a ‘significant investment’ which would provide ‘much-needed services and a jobs boost to the city’.
