The organisers of The Walled City Tattoo are delighted that Swiss drumming sensation STICKSTOFF are returning to Derry to headline this year’s star-studded event which will be staged at the Millennium Forum on November 16th and 17th 2018. With just under three months until the curtain rises on this year’s annual large-scale production, James Kee, director of The Walled City Tattoo, said that audiences can once again look forward to another sensational show featuring local, national and international musical, singing, dancing and acrobatic talent. He continued: “We are delighted that the hugely popular Basel-based drummers STICKSTOFF who wowed audiences with an unforgettable performance at The Walled City Tattoo 2016 are returning for this year’s hugely popular indoor event at the Millennium Forum with a dazzling brand new choreographed routine. “Our main headline act will be joined by a cast of over 300 local, national and international performers in what promises to be a huge spectacle including the leaders in choreographed Irish and Highland dancing, pomp and ceremony of the brass, flute, pipes and drums along with a number of powerful vignettes.” The Walled City Tattoo was first staged at Ebrington Square as one of the key highlights of the UK City of Culture 2013 programme. The 2018 Tattoo will be the fifth in six years and continues to be the only City of Culture legacy event, entertaining over 25,000 spectators to date. The production team have another fantastic line-up planned for November 16th and 17th. Team Sollus, Innova, Strabane Brass Band, Hamilton Flute Band, Thiepval Memorial, Bready pipes and drums, actors and the Swinging Starlets will share the stage with a number of International guest performers amid a backdrop of stunning special effects. Headline act STICKSTOFF perform their spectacular percussive show with rapid modern beats and amazing visual elements. From Germany to India, from Thailand to the UK, audiences all over the globe are fascinated by these unique and innovative performances. The group has impressed live crowds and millions of online viewers worldwide. The Walled City Tattoo 2018 will be held in the Millennium Forum on November 16th and November 17th at 8pm.
