Results of consultation on the renaming of the Brandywell stadium in memory of the late Derry City FC captain Ryan McBride expected to be made public this Thursday

The results of an online survey that will determine if the Brandywell Stadium is to be renamed in memory of the late Derry City FC captain Ryan McBride is expected be made public this Thursday. The 12-week consultation came to a close in June after being launched on April 9. The online survey asked the public to vote Yes or No in favour of changing the name of the football stadium at the Brandywell Complex to the 'Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium'. In July, a spokesperson for Derry City and Strabane District Council said that a 'report outlining full details of the consultation will come before members of the Health and Communities Committee in the autumn for consideration'. It is expected that the findings of the survey will now be made public at the September meeting of the council's Health and Community Committee, to be held this Thursday, where the renaming of the stadium is part of the agenda.
