Thornhill pupil organises climate strike in Derry tomorrow

A Thornhill College pupil has organised a strike in the city centre to highlight the need for immediate action to combat climate change. Year 11 Thornhill pupil, Róis Hutton, is arranging a Youth Climate Strike tomorrow at 1pm in Guildhall Square. Youth Strike for Climate Derry is a student led group which is part of the Global Youth Climate Strike Movement inspired by Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg. Derry will be joining other locations across the North to highlight the climate emergency and protest the inadequate response of our governments. Róis said: "Join with us tomorrow to send a message to politicians that the future is ours and we are determined to protect it."
