Sean Dolans GAA Club in Derry has planned a weekend of celebrations for the official opening of its new clubhouse and playing pitch.

The original clubhouse, located at Piggery Ridge at the rear of Creggan housing estate, was destroyed in an arson attack in December 2011.

Ulster GAA president Michael Hasson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness will be among the guests at the official opening ceremony taking place tomorrow week at 11.30am.

A parade to the ground will leave Creggan Shops at 10.15am.

The opening ceremony will be followed by a underage blitz (12.30pm), ladies match (2.30pm) and a game between the 2009 “treble” team and the current senior side (3.30pm).

Following the live screening of the All-Ireland final replay between Dublin and Mayo in the marquee, the day will end with the Senior Presentation Night with music from the Soul Seekers.

The night before the official opening the club will host a “Family Fortunes” and the weekend celebrations will end with a Family Fun Day from 1.00pm to 5.00pm on Sunday.
