Ulster Senior Hurling Shield - Final
Derry 1-17 Tyrone 1-12

THE scoring power of Ruairi Convery and a Gerald Bradley goal helped Derry see off the challenge of a spirited Tyrone team in Sunday’s Ulster Shield Final in Carrickmore.

Derry were 0-9 to 0-6 ahead at half-time but with the wind at their backs and the accuracy of Damien Casey, Tyrone were soon level.

With 44 minutes on the clock, Bradley hammered home Derry's goal and Convery tagged on three points to open up a 1-13 to 0-10 lead.

Tyrone stuck to their task and a Sean Óg Groogan goal got them back in the game but it was too little too late as a more cohesive Derry held on for a five point win.

This win takes Collie McGurk's men back into next season's Ulster championship and it's a welcome piece of silverware going into Saturday's Nicky Rackard Cup game with Louth (Darver 3pm).
