Dr Andrew Reilly, Head of Medical Physics, speaks about the arrival of the ‘TrueBeam Linear Accelerators’, the multi-million cancer treatment equipment for the Radiotherapy Centre at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.
These treatment machines will be used to provide greater access to advanced radiotherapy treatments. The 'Linacs' will be able to target a range of cancers including prostate, lung, breast, gastro-intestinal and head and neck cancers.
