My Top Tips for preparing your skin before you apply any tan!
1. Hydrate the skin.
Keeping the skin well hydrated before applying tan is a must. Drink 8 glasses/ 1 litre of water daily will not only keep your skin looking well hydrated but it will also help flush toxins out from the body and brighten your natural skin complexion. Whatever tan you decide on using will automatically apply more evenly when the skin is hydrated, meaning you will not be left with scaly dried out tan.
2. Give the tan a break before a big event
If you are planning on going to a big event or even away on your holidays and you want to get a full body spray tan before you go, my advice is to stop wearing any false tan at least two weeks before. This will allow your skin to be free from any trace of previous tans.
3. Exfoliate
Use an exfoliater to suit your skin type. Try and exfoliate the skin every day for a week (depending on how dry/sensitive your skin is) prior to applying self tan.
3. 24 Hours is a must!
Whether you are getting a spray tan or doing a DIY job on it yourself, always always apply the tan at least 24 hours prior to your big event, this will allow you enough time to fix any mishaps.
4. Moisturise
Using a deep moisture daily after you have applied your tan will not only help lock the tan in, but it will leave your skin looking smooth, health and sun kissed.
