Draperstown songstress Gemma Bradley has been chosen to compete at The Big Music Project Competition regional final in Belfast tonight.

The Big Music Project Competition, powered by Next BRIT Thing, is funded by The Big Lottery Fund and aims to provide future generations of musicians with the chance to learn first-hand from the music business and take steps towards a career in the industry.

The aspiring musician will perform at The Crescent Arts Centre for industry professionals, who will be tasked with selecting the most talented artists from more than 100 acts across the whole of the UK.

All finalists will be vying for a spot in the national final taking place in London during BRITs Week in 2015 in the lead-up to one of the biggest nights in the music industry’s calendar, The BRIT Awards.

The successful young people, aged 14 to 24, will be competing for top notch prizes, including the opportunity to record at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios, the chance to perform at Classic FM Live at the Royal Albert Hall, and the unique offer to be featured on the BRIT Awards Compilation Album 2016.

The workshop-style showcase will provide young talent with the chance to gain valuable advice, practical guidance and one-to-one feedback on how to take their music to the next level.  The judging panel will include Producers from across the Global Radio Network, Execs and A&R’s from some of the top record labels, Programmers from the UK’s popular festival circuit, as well as some of the UK’s most influential music editors, amongst others.

Commenting on this exciting opportunity, Gemma said: “I am thrilled to have been chosen to compete in the regional finals of The Big Music Project Competition. I am so passionate about music, and this is an amazing opportunity.”
