P McVey marks 40 years with launch of new Cabin Hub business

Toome based modular construction specialist creates dedicated operation to meet growing demand for fast, flexible site accommodation across UK and Ireland.
P McVey Building Systems is marking its 40th anniversary year with the launch of Cabin Hub, a new specialist business created to provide ready-to-use site accommodation and storage to customers across Northern Ireland, Ireland and Great Britain.
The new operation has been established in response to a growing need for businesses and contractors to access temporary and additional space quickly, particularly where traditional construction programmes or bespoke modular solutions are not suited to immediate requirements.
Cabin Hub will operate with a live inventory of new and used cabins and containers, available to buy or hire, with units held ready for dispatch rather than manufactured to order.
The business forms part of the wider P McVey Group and represents a new strand of its modular offering, complementing the company’s core operation delivering larger-scale bespoke modular buildings for sectors including education, healthcare and commercial construction.
Mike McVey, Director at P McVey Building Systems, said: “After 40 years in modular construction, we have a very good understanding of the different ways our customers need to use space. Not every requirement calls for a bespoke building or a long construction programme. Sometimes a contractor needs a site office, a business needs additional accommodation, or a project simply needs secure storage – and they need it quickly.
Cabin Hub has been created to meet that requirement. It gives customers another way of accessing the expertise and infrastructure of P McVey, but with a much more immediate, stock-led approach.”
Based at P McVey’s Toome operation in County Antrim, Cabin Hub will supply a range of portable cabins, site offices, welfare facilities, anti-vandal units and storage containers.
The business will serve customers across a range of industries, including construction and infrastructure, education, healthcare, manufacturing, events and local businesses.
Unlike P McVey’s project-led modular construction operation, Cabin Hub is built around availability and speed, with stock held ready for deployment and customers able to choose between purchasing or hiring units according to their requirements.
The launch represents the latest development in P McVey’s growth strategy as the family-owned business celebrates four decades in modular construction.
Founded in the 1980s, P McVey Building Systems has grown from its Northern Ireland roots into a £25 million business with more than 2,500 projects completed across the UK and Ireland.
The company has continued to expand its offering in recent years, including investment in manufacturing capacity and its growing presence in the Great Britain market.
Adrian McVey added: “Reaching 40 years is a significant milestone for any family business, but we are equally focused on what the next 40 years look like. Cabin Hub is a good example of that. It takes something we have always been good at – providing practical space solutions – and adapts it to a changing market. We see a real opportunity to make it easier for customers to access quality accommodation when they need it, without overcomplicating the process.”
Cabin Hub is now live at www.cabinhub.co.uk with customers able to view current stock online and enquire about units available for purchase or hire.
